‘Matt Ryder actor.com’ is an innovative, new online comedy series devised and written by actor/producer Warren Llambias (‘The Shouting Men’).  We produced a pilot which I co-produced, shot (2nd camera, under DoP Graham Fowler) and edited.  The series will follow the life of Matt Ryder, an actor/cabbie who is struggling to lose his tag of ‘the bloke from the PC World ads’ and is not at all based on the life of Warren Llambias, an actor/cabbie who appeared in lots of PC World ads.  At the heart of the project is a ground-breaking and very exciting sponsorship concept, so if you are a brand/agency and would like to hear more, do get in touch.

During the 2010 World Cup I worked as a producer for ITV’s online football team on their new ITV live service which offered interactive coverage of all games including video replays, text commentary, stats and chat.  I was eventually tasked with editing the video replays for the final.

Mitre Tensile

I directed, shot and edited a series of videos to promote the Mitre Tensile, the official ball of the Football League/SPL for 2010/11.  The brief was to highlight the ball’s speed, accuracy and control, which was demonstrated by players and staff from Colchester United, Watford, Barnet, Coventry and Hearts.  In edit I produced a generic edit of the shoot, individual videos for each club and a short edit to highlight the ‘smashing’ properties of the ball.

Channelbee

Tim Lovejoy presenting Channelbee
Channelbee was Tim Lovejoy’s entertainment, comedy and football video site, a joint venture with Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment.  I was asked to join Tim and some of the old Soccer AM gang to help set up what was to be an exciting new venture for all of us.  It paved the way for what I’m doing now, and I believe we were on the right lines in many respects, but it wasn’t to be(e).  Had YouTube been where it is now at the time I think we would have been on to a very good thing!

In 2007, shortly after joining Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment, Tim Lovejoy and our team were asked to produce the UK version of their new MLS magazine show, ‘David Beckham’s Soccer USA’.  I co-produced the series which aired on Five in the UK.

I was lucky enough to work on the production team of Soccer AM at Sky Sports from 1999-2007, starting as editorial assistant and eventually co-writing and producing the show for 4 years.  The best of times…but also the toughest of times!
